Ray Alpern has been in the professional photofinishing industry for over 32 years, Starting his professional career as a technician at Eastman Kodak's Color Print & Processing Lab in Hollywood, CA. He then went to Royce PhotoGraphics in Glendale, CA as a Field Service Technician specializing in Kreonite, Hope, and Byers lab equipment. He then started his own processor service business called Image Lab Systems and continued servicing the Southern California pro lab market for several years, followed by stints as Production Manager, first at Professional Photo Laboratory, Inc. in Marina Del Rey, CA and then Multiple Photos, Inc in Los Angeles, CA. He then owned and operated his own pro lab, Professional Photo Imaging in Oak View, CA for many years. Over 10 years ago Ray finally completed the circle by going back to work for Eastman Kodak as a Senior Field Engineer for the Kodak Professional division specializing in the RP/SRP30's, LED/RP50's, and the HR500/HR Universal Scanners.

Ray has been factory trained and certified on pro lab equipment by: Kreonite, Hope, Byers, Kodak, Noritsu, Kis, Gretag, and others, and has yet to meet the machine he could not fix! With the demise of Kodak Professional Service & Support, he now has founded HR500scanner.com to service the Kodak Professional scanner market. When not busy fixing machines and the people who operate them, Ray has also spent over 20 years as a professional newspaper press photographer specializing in concert photography, and has been a member of the Photo Marketing Association and the Society of Photofinishing Engineers.
